Modern ways of connecting individual panels of wood flooring are effectively slid together before being clicked into place, thus stabilising the floor and providing a beautiful solid wood floor that will last you for years. Of course, if you still do not feel comfortable doing so then you could call on the professionals to install it for you. However, either way, you will be able to walk on the floor within minutes rather than hours, thus making it incredibly easy to fit around your family, especially if the flooring is in a high traffic area. The level of convenience of easy to install wood flooring is fantastic so it is absolutely perfect for any family home.

Having solid wooden floors in the home has always been highly desirable but many homeowners did not want the hassle of laying the flooring properly, which could take days, and the expense that went hand in hand with it all. That is one of the main reasons why flooring manufacturers began to search for other vibe options and came up with click solid wooden flooring.
Click solid wood flooring is the latest fashion trend as far as the home is concerned because it looks and feels just like regular wooden flooring, but with one main difference. The floorboards actually click together rather than each panel being a separate entity that is joined by messy adhesive. Each board has a joining mechanism on each side. When the flooring is laid, the board is simply clicked into place so that each is joined to the next to create a cohesive unit. There are no nails needed, or adhesive for that matter! Laying the click solid wood flooring is therefore really easy ad takes just a couple of hours to lay completely in an average sized room.
Any homeowner can put the slick solid flooring in place because there is no DIY knowledge required. You simply have to read the instructions and carry them out. However, there is more than one way to install it, depending on your preference. You can install it from wall to wall or float the click solid wood floor if you wish to. In this way, it is the same as the engineered wooden flooring that you can buy at the moment. Floated wooden floor is not attached to the sub floor in any way and so it can move independently and roll with any changes to the environment. This protects the floor and makes it much more resistant to damage.
However, whichever way you choose to lay click solid wood flooring, it is an excellent choice for any room in your home. It has a whole list of advantages over regular wooden floors and should definitely be on your to be considered list! It is easier to fit, quicker to fit and can save you a lot of money. Wood flooring has become extremely popular in recent years as a result of numerous factors including:

Solid flooring is expensive but the availability of laminate, click and various other types of wood flooring has now left the consumer with a lot of choice and also a range of prices. It is now more affordable than ever and will fit into most budgets.

With laminate flooring being today’s most popular look for homes across the globe, it is difficult to understand why it is only now they have created their first waterproof laminate flooring.
Aqua Step has made it possible for homes to have laminate flooring running throughout their home by being the first 100% waterproof flooring range for sale. It is the ideal flooring for any room with high humidity such as bathroom kitchens as it is not only completely waterproof but has the added benefit of being easily maintained.
Where as before there was the risk of laminate wood flooring swelling or lasting far less without the essential waterproofing, it now means that the lasting of your flooring will be for up to twenty years, a whole decade later than some other types of laminate flooring.
It is the ideal flooring for homes with children or animals where knocks and spills are common problems. The stress of the water seeping underneath the floor and causing moisture underneath the floorboards is now no longer a worry. As long as Aqua Step floorboards are sealed at the edges no water can seep through the joins in the boards.
It has been noted that the noise that is created from laminate flooring can put a few potential buyers off purchasing it, meaning they are missing out on what could make a major difference to their home. With this in mind Aqua Step have also created their waterproof flooring with a PVC core to eliminate this problem. The noise is dramatically reduced therefore making your home the peaceful place it should be.
These are the other aspects of Aqua Step waterproof flooring that make it different from other flooring brands;
• It has a click-mechanism with Uniclic Profile meaning there is no glue needed to ensure your flooring stays together.
• Easy installation that can be done by the homeowner
• 8mm thick means it is one of the thinnest of the laminate floors available
• The guarantee of the flooring is twenty years even with a high amount of traffic being put upon it.
• It has the use of being fitted in bathrooms and kitchens meaning the same flooring can be laid throughout the house.
So if there is one type of laminate flooring to be considered, Aqua Step has to be it. It has all the essential needs a quality laminate floor should have, but with many extras that could improve not only the look, but the quality of your home.

There is a wide array of wood flooring types available today but of them all, oak is the one that really stands out. Oak wooden flooring amounts to 80% of the combined sales of wood flooring, and you will find that because of its popularity, flooring retailers have more oak-based choices than other types. We also know that because of its popularity, the majority of homes have opted for solid oak floors, perhaps as much for the aesthetic qualities as for the great properties of it.
The Many Qualities of Oak Wood Flooring
• Oak wood flooring is incredibly resilient which makes it ideal for flooring- it is not susceptible to wear and tear as some other woods can be, and has been known for its strong properties for centuries. The wood does not mark easily and will last for decades if looked after well. Any marking that does occur can easily be sanded, re-finished or re-coated numerous times to keep it looking new and fresh.
• Oak wood flooring is still perceived by some as an upper class commodity so a certain kudos can be gained by having it in your home. Maybe this goes some way to explaining why oak flooring has been, and continues to be so popular.
• Oak wood can be obtained from China, Russia, France, Hong Kong and England; the majority is available from sustainable forests, so you can rest assured that your new floor will not put the environment at a disadvantage.
The Aesthetic Qualities of Oak Wood Flooring
When people think of oak floors, they tend to think of the sandy coloured floorboards that can be seen in older houses. This doesn’t fit in that well with many homes, however, which does tend to put people off. But thanks to lacquering and varnishing, oak floors can come in a variety of warm, rich colours and hues, including red and brown as well as the traditional sandy colour. The choice means that oak can fit into any room of your house creating a sense of space, depth and light, and help you achieve the effect you are looking for. Oak also has naturally occurring knots and burrs that give it character. Quality oak flooring will bring out this character to its best effect.
Oak flooring is usually nailed to the sub floor for stability, although ‘floating flooring systems’ can be bought if you are not quite ready for permanent flooring. Most boards have bevelled edges or differing widths, to fit easily in your home. Oak flooring comes in a wide range of qualities and prices so you can easily choose the one that best suits your home, budget and requirements. It is no longer ridiculously expensive; oak is now at an affordable price. Whatever you want and need, it can be found Factory Direct Flooring.

Wood flooring is a highly desirable commodity in any home these days. It can help you to make your home more attractive to potential buyers if you are planning to sell. It can give any room a wonderful lightness by attracting sunlight and make the room appear to be larger and more spacious than it actually is. However, it can only accomplish all of the above if it is fitted properly and looks the art. This is where acclimatisation of wood flooring becomes useful.
Although many people do not know about the acclimatisation of wood flooring, it is essential if your brand new wood floor is to settle properly. It is a well known fact that wood expands and contracts when the temperature fluctuates, as can be seen in any tree that is outside and exposed to the elements. It swells when hot and contracts when cold, and wood that is used for your flooring is no different. This could cause serious problems when it comes to laying wooden flooring because it will also expand and contract unless acclimatisation of wood flooring is allowed.
Acclimatisation of wood flooring requires you to place the wood in the room in which it is to go for at least 14 days before it is actually laid. During that period of time, the wood will become used to the temperature and humidity of the room and this will prevent any cracking and splitting when it is laid. The ideal way to acclimatise the wood flooring is to stack it piles with bearers in between the layers to allow the air to circulate around the wood naturally. It is as simple as that!
It is easy to think that a wood floor for a smaller room does not need acclimatisation but that is most definitely not the case. If you are laying a wood floor in any room, from the basement to the lounge to the attic, you need to acclimatise the wood first. Any wood floor can crack or even become uneven, which would ultimately make it look extremely ugly and also make it dangerous and prone to wear and tear. You do not have to do anything other than allow it to sit in the room so for very little effort, you can reap the rewards of having a beautiful and acclimatised wood floor in a fortnight’s time!
